Purchase Ledger Clerk

I am seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk to join this team. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments.

Salary: £25k – 26.5k per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the purchase ledger
  • Process and verify supplier invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software

Location: Loughborough, LE11 5TR
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm or 9:00am – 5:30pm (30-min lunch)

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. Duties

  • Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a prompt manner.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Analyse financial data to support reporting requirements and identify trends.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Sage.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage is highly desirable.
  • Strong data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial information accurately.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
