We are looking for an organised and dedicated individual to join our team as a Business Services Assistant within Derbyshire County Council’s new Transport Commissioning and Contracts team. About the Role:

As a Business Services Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support in arranging, procuring, and maintaining passenger transport services, while assisting with contracts and ensuring compliance within passenger transport services as part of the Commissioning and Contracts team. You’ll work closely with various stakeholders, including parents, carers, schools, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, addressing issues and providing support for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract performance and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Provide administrative support, including note-taking and document management.
  • Process financial information, including invoices, claims, and accounts.
  • Maintain and organise records and data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a busy, customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A solid understanding of data management systems and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in ICT systems, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
  • A good understanding of data protection legislation.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a committed and flexible individual to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Adult Social Care teams at Staveley Community Care Centre in the Chesterfield area.

You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants. The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines is essential.


Working Pattern:

Monday – Friday 9 – 1pm


What will I be doing:

  • Duties will include support to local social care teams, which includes note taking at a variety of meetings.
  • Liaising within internal and external clients and professionals.
  • Utilising the internal client system and general IT support to colleagues.
  • Financial tasks may include petty cash, debit card holder and utilising the internal financial systems following set financial guidance.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Derbyshire Business Centre for a office based Business Services Assistant grade 7 who will provide a high level of service to support Derbyshire County Council.

You will be joining a friendly and diverse team. The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to supervise a team is essential.


What will I be doing:

  • Liaise with management on any day-to-day issues to ensure the service runs efficiently
  • Maintain and operate equipment associated with all aspects of the print room and scanning room that support the smooth running of the service for the council
  • Use departmental computer systems to input data in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council policies
  • To support and implement new schemes, projects and developments.
  • Follow ordering procedures to ensure adequate low value supplies/resources are available to meet office requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and stock is ordered and efficiently controlled.
  • To liaise with departments and partner organisations professionally
  • Deal with both internal and external phone/personal enquiries/queries, and provide a reception service in person
  • To supervise the teams within the Derbyshire Business Centre
  • To work with management to schedule and delegate work to team members.
  • To promote the services available from the Derbyshire Business Centre to service users and assist them with addressing their operational requirements, focusing on customer care.
