The opportunity has arisen for a Food Technician within our successful, enthusiastic and talented technology department, to start as soon as possible.

Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

Kingsway Park High School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Food Technician to join our thriving Technology Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking and inclusive school community that is on a journey of continuous improvement under a new Senior Leadership Team.

Our Food Science and Nutrition Department is well-equipped with two dedicated classrooms and state-of-the-art resources. As a Food Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our teaching staff to deliver high-quality lessons, maintaining an excellent learning environment, and inspiring students to excel in Food Science and Nutrition.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:


  • Food Preparation & Stock Management:
    Ordering, storing, and disposing of ingredients; ensuring stock levels are maintained.

  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Organising, cleaning, and repairing equipment as needed.

  • Classroom Support:
    Preparing materials for lessons, assisting with demonstrations, and helping students with their practical work.

  • Health & Safety:
    Maintaining a safe, clean environment and managing department records.

  • Experience working as a Food Technician.
  • Strong subject knowledge and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
