Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need within our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those requiring assistance due to age, illness, or disability. This role involves working closely with clients in their homes or care facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Duties

  • Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure that clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary requirements.
  • Administer basic first aid as needed and monitor clients’ health conditions, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Support clients with dementia care, ensuring they feel safe and secure while engaging them in meaningful activities.
  • Facilitate childcare for families in need, providing a nurturing environment for children while parents are occupied.
  • Collaborate with nursing homes or hospice care teams to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care activities and communicate effectively with family members and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home care, nursing home settings, or hospice care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
  • Certification in first aid or relevant caregiving qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules is essential.
