Job Description:
We are looking for a full-time Liquid Coatings Manager to bolt onto our current senior management structure to drive our liquid coatings business growth. The role will be mainly metal roof coatings such as Delcote, Drisilane etc. in addition for overcoating various flat roof systems. A knowledge of flat roofing systems would be advantageous. The manager would be responsible for surveying, estimating and managing contracts on a national basis.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates for liquid coating projects
• Analyse project drawings and specifications to determine material and labour requirements and conduct site visits and surveys to gather necessary information for cost estimates
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services and scrutinise quotations ensuring accuracy, value for money and resolve cost discrepancies while maintaining profitability
• Develop the company’s current supply chain introducing new suppliers and subcontractors
• Evaluate project risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure profitability
• Monitor project budgets and track expenditure against estimates
• Monitor project progress and prepare and submit progress reports to management and clients as required ensuring any deviations from contract terms are addressed adequately
• Have a thorough understanding of the project, scope of works and restrictions imposed by contractual requirements and site conditions
• Communicate regularly and effectively with all team members and collaborate with other managers to resolve any contract or programme related issues
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project success
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years proven experience of coating and managing in the roofing industry, with a focus on metal systems and liquid coatings (essential)
• Knowledge of roof and gutter coatings works (i.e. HD Sharman, Giromax, Sikka, Tor, Rooflock, Drisilane etc.)
• Ability to read and manage digital drawings with sound technical construction roofing knowledge
• Good time management skills and strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
• Full clean driving license (essential)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines
• Professional accreditation or membership with relevant industry bodies is desirable
