We have an excellent opportunity within Precision Tube & Laser Ltd for someone looking to join a rapidly growing company, working in a varied and interesting role as a Powder Coating Operative.

Job description

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Powder Coating Operative (minimum of 3 years experience) able to help run our new Powder Coating Plant. The facility has been created as part of the company’s dynamic growth plans and to ensure all key components are produced and supplied from one site. You will work as part of our growing and friendly team based in Nelson, Lancashire. You will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes on all products. The operative must adhere to safety and quality standards whilst working efficiently to meet production goals.

Responsibilities include:

• Clean and prepare surfaces for powder coating by using pre-treatment processes
• Mask or cover areas that are not being powder coated
• Powder coating application
• Operative powder coating equipment, including spray guns and coating booths
• Ensure even and consistent application of powder coatings on products
• Adjust and control equipment settings to achieve desired coating thickness and finish
• Work from internal production orders, recording and maintaining all documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Retain efficient running of machinery, ensuring company quality and working processes are followed
• Liaise and feedback production quality issues
• Generate daily painting plans
• Other duties as required by PTL’s Production Manager / Technical Sales Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• powder coating: 3 years (required)
