Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Saw Operative to join our steel fabrication team. In the Bromsgrove area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate band saws, circular saws, and other cutting machinery to cut steel materials to the required dimensions.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate cutting.
  • Set up saws and other cutting equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and maintained to optimal performance.
  • Inspect raw materials for quality, ensuring they meet specified standards before cutting.
  • Monitor the cutting process to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on saws and other cutting machinery as needed.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to company housekeeping standards.
  • Report any machine faults or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, cutting operations, and production timelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating saws and cutting machinery, preferably in a steelwork or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of steel types, cutting techniques, and material properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Hours of Work:

Monday – Friday

7:00am – 4:00pm


Rate of Pay:

£12.00 per hours.
