We are currently recruiting for 2 x Welder Fabricators for our client based in Kidderminster. Possible permanent positions after a successful trial period.

Immediate start available.

Duties:

  • Cutting materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses material – 1.3 – 5mm mild steel.
  • Welding or joining metal and other materials into a wide range of bespoke structures.
  • Use of machines such as guillotines, hydraulic folders, powered rollers etc.
  • Following engineering plans, drawings and instructions.
  • Operating tools and machinery and welding equipment.

Requirements:

  • Previous sheet metal fabrication experience – 1 year minimum.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hard working and reliable.

Hours of work:

  • Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm.
  • Friday – 8am – 3:30pm.

Rate of Pay:

  • Starting at £13.00 per hour, rising to £14.00 after 12 weeks.
  • Overtime available – 1.5 after 39 hours.

Physical Work Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricating and welding (MiG and TiG) metal components according to the specifications
  • Supporting engineering team in daily basis.
  • Using different types of machinery including saw equipment.
  • Using of hand held tools and power tools.
  • Reading and understanding of technical drawings.
  • Maintaining safe conditions at all the times.
  • Implementing all the company’s procedures and policies.
  • Communicating any problems or obstacles to Manager.
  • Supporting the engineering team in daily tasks if required.
  • Notifying Manager on any delays and outages.
  • Responsibilities include implementing and sustaining manufacturing technologies that continuously improve operational excellence.
  • Assisting Manager in daily tasks to ensure targets are met and production is not affected.
  • Ensuring that all equipment used in the department is properly maintained and operational at all the times.
  • Performing duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintaining inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables.
  • Performing quality checks.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications

  • Training in welding is preferred however not necessary as all extensive trainings will be provided.
  • Experience in warehouse is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate all equipment and tools used in the department incl. welding equipment, saws, drills, angle grinders, etc.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in operating Counterbalance is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • High attention to details
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Good level of numeracy skill and comfortable dealing with figures.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time management, planning and organizational skills.

  • Previous MIG/MAG Welding/ Fabricating experience. (ESSENTIAL)
  • Must be able to weld to a high standard including up to 25mm multi runs.
  • Must have their own tools (squares/punches/basic hand tools)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical fabrication drawings.
  • Previous experience in structual steel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Welder Fabricator

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to work for an industry leader providing specialist furniture subcontracts in Healthcare, Education, Student Accommodation and Laboratory sectors. Deanestor Limited requires a Welder Fabricator who is familiar with structural welding, forming and various other fabrication processes.

As the Welder Fabricator you will be required to use technical drawings, various other specifications and verbal instructions for planning and accomplishing the goal

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities you would be required to perform would involve the following:

  • Cutting and joining metal parts for fabricating furniture applying tools like mig-welder, plasma cutter, arc welder, chop saw, oxyacetylene torch etc.
  • Designing and fabricating the equipment and parts for meeting the special or unusual needs, using the manufacturer specifications, calculator, measuring devices, drawings etc.
  • Installing or removing any special equipment like paint machine, grinder, power and hand tools etc.
  • Designing and creating holding jigs that aid in fabrication of the parts in various numbers.
  • Maintaining a record of all the work completed so as to facilitate the accounting activities.
  • Maintaining routine inventory supplies that are used for operating the welding unit via inspection of stocks and ordering fresh stock as and when required.

Skills and Specifications

  • Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade.
  • Skilled in identifying the proper power and hand tools in the safest possible manner and various equipment.

Education and Qualification

  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Basic knowledge of welding symbols and blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to work with complicated welding tools like ox-fuel, plasma, mag-drills, chainsaws etc.
