This Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Facilities Manager to join our team to help accelerate our growth even further.

You will be responsible for preserving the good condition and infrastructure of our sites, ensuring that facilities are safe and functioning well so that our team – your colleagues – can do their best work, in the best possible environment.

This is a newly created role to support the ongoing expansion of the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Ensuring that high standards are maintained and that facilities are safe and fit for purpose at all times

· Manage third party office systems and maintenance contracts, oversee renewals or proactively source alternative options to streamline processes and reduce costs

· Managing the janitorial team to ensure our sites are kept clean, including management of

regular deep cleaning

· You will ensure that all key equipment, facilities and services operate correctly

· You will organise reactive maintenance where necessary, coordinating and managing external tradespeople and contractors

· Scheduling, tendering and management of planned maintenance and refurbishment works

· Manage contractor and vendor relationships

· Conduct regular inspections, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to prevent downtime and costly repairs

· Managing any office or site moves as required

· You’ll be willing to get ‘hands on’ and roll your sleeves up to fix minor building issues

You’ll excel in this role if you have the following skills & experience:

· You’ll have a passion for building maintenance and a commitment to delivering operational excellence

· Experience with Facilities Management or a similar trade

· An awareness of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices

· A keen eye for detail – you’ll be unapologetically a perfectionist

· A proactive approach to maintenance with an attitude of wanting to deliver a first class environment for our team

The Malloy Aeronautics Team:

Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and ensure the efficient management of our office and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing building operations, maintenance, health and safety compliance, and site security, while delivering cost-effective solutions and excellent customer service.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll being doing (but not limited to):

· Oversee day-to-day operations of the building(s), ensuring all facilities are safe, secure, functional and well-maintained

· Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources

· Supervise and co-ordinate staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure optimal service delivery

· Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fire safety standards, security regulations, and environmental policies

· Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs, repairs, and refurbishments

· Manage contracts and service agreements, negotiating cost-effective solutions and maintaining vendor relationships

· Implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives

· Handle staff complaints or facility related requests in a professional and timely manner

· Provide strategic input into long-term facility planning and improvements

Essential Skills and Experiences:

· Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role

· Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and health and safety regulations

· Excellent organisational, time management, and leadership skills

· Proficiency in using facilities management software and MS Office Suite

· Strong communication and negotiation skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues effectively

Desired Skills and Experiences:

· Relevant qualifications in facilities management, engineering, or a related field (e.g., BIFM, IWFM certification) are highly desirable

· Willing to work out of hours when required to ensure the continued operation of the site

· Health & Safety certifications (e.g, NEBOSH)

· First Aid and Fire Safety certifications
