Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Casual Nursery Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. This role involves providing support to nursery staff during busy periods, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. The Casual Nursery Staff will be responsible for managing groups of children, communicating effectively with both children and colleagues, and maintaining high standards of care.

Duties

  • Supervise and engage with children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
  • Communicate effectively with children, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages participation and interaction.
  • Support the nursery team in daily operations, including managing routines and transitions between activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a welcoming community.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education are advantageous but not essential.
  • You are availiable to work between the hours of 7am and 6pm, all year round. (we cannot accommodate school hours) And once the hours are agreed, you fully commit to those hours.
  • Due to the legal staffing requirements we must meet as a nursery, and that you will be covering the absence of contracted staff, then flexiblitly and reliability is essential for this role.

Benefits of a casual staff role:

  • No contract, so you are not commited to set amount of working hours per week.
  • You will be offered between 4 and 40 hours per week, one week in advance. You then choose which hours you wish to cover.
  • Holiday pay will be paid as acrrued each month.
