Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for science and foster critical thinking skills through engaging lessons and hands-on experiments. This role requires a commitment to creating a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the national curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions to promote student understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and behaviour.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in science education and incorporate new methodologies into teaching practices.

Experience

  • A degree in Science Education or a related field is essential; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
  • Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles across various disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes, including interactive whiteboards and online resources.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
