Part Time Customer Service Assistant

Job Description

Mother Shipton’s is looking for a customer service assistant to work in the historic attraction.

The attraction is a woodland park which includes the Petrifying Well and Cave where Mother Shipton, a famous Prophetess, was born in 1488. We are the oldest attraction in England, and visitors attend from all over the world.

The role is part time, 1-2 days over 7 days a week, including bank holidays.

Main duties include:

• Face to face customer service
• Welcoming visitors and processing transactions
• Maintaining excellent presentation in the Ticket Booths and/or Gift Shop & Museum
• Stock take, stock control, stock replenishment
• Opening and locking up of the Ticket Booths and/or Gift Shop & Museum
• Processing card transactions
• Maintenance duties such as litter picking and cleaning

Candidate specification:

• Be personable and confident dealing with customers
• Have a keen attention to detail
• Be self-motivated
• Be comfortable working alone and as part of a team
• Educated to secondary school level or equivalent
• Be over 17 years of age
• Be happy working outdoors

Mother Shipton’s Cave is a seasonal attraction open from January to November and selected dates for Christmas. Hours of work will vary between 09.00am and 6pm depending on the time of year. Rate of pay is above the National Minimum Wage.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
