Job Description

So, you fancy a career in property then this is the role for you.

If your background is in sales, customer service or business development then we can offer you full training within the lettings industry to drive a successful career filled with opportunities. As you would expect as we are part of the largest Estate Agency group in the UK!

Property is all about people. It’s about creating moments that matter. Handing over the keys to that all-important first home, helping a retired couple to downsize – and everything in between. As an Apprentice Lettings Negotiator with us, you’ll be at the heart of all of that. You’ll create seamless experiences that put our customers front and centre; experiences that make buying, selling or renting a place an exciting opportunity – something to look forward to because the level of service you offer will be, quite simply, exceptional. The wide-reaching scope of our business means we can give you everything you need to do all of that. We’ll empower you to make every property more than a home – to be part of some of the most important decisions in people’s lives.

About the role

The day to day

Your role will involve carrying out viewings for our lettings properties as well as supporting and working with the wider branch team to help everyone achieve their performance goals. Whether you’re registering the details of applicants, updating our database or keeping notes on your conversations with landlords, you’ll always work to the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. We’ll expect you to look for opportunities to introduce extra services that will help our customers, and to make the best use of our diary system to optimise those opportunities.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Meeting your own targets (which you’ll agree with your manager)
  • Keeping branch and personal activity records
  • Creating correspondence that’s clear and professional
  • Carrying out business generation activities and converting leads
  • Delivering the exceptional levels of service that will lead to positive reviews through Net Promoter Score, Feefo and Google reviews
  • Giving applicants and landlords regular feedback and updates; Living the ‘customer comes first’ approach
  • Understanding and promoting other Countrywide services and products
  • Following our service standards, lettings process, policies and procedures along with all relevant legislation
  • Carrying out various other tasks to support your manager.

The customer

It goes without saying that you’ll live and breathe our culture of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do. You’re someone who loves the buzz that comes from creating life-changing moments, and your passion will shine through when you’re greeting people in the branch, answering the phone or going out and about to different properties. You’ll also develop a deeper understanding of the customer journey so you can suggest ways to make it even better.

Compliance requirements

In an industry like ours, compliance is key. So we’ll need you to:

  • Complete all relevant online learning compliance training on time, every time
  • Carry out your role in a consistent and compliant manner
  • Maintain a good knowledge of our health and safety policy, especially when it comes to out-of-office appointments and canvassing
  • Comply with all company and statutory legislation, including Estate Agent Act 1979 and Customer Protection Regulations 2008

High energy and drive: You have the self-motivation to set high standards and embrace new challenges. Your passion for moving ahead – and bringing people with you – makes everyone feel part of something special.

Results driven: You fully understand required outcomes and you make them happen by employing the resources, tools and actions that will deliver the right results, at the right time.
