If so, we’ve a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Digital Construction Manager to join us in Norfolk or Suffolk.


About the role:

As our Digital Construction Manager, you will:

  • Implement regional strategy for; and manage the implementation of the Morgan Sindall BIM processes, procedures, and best practice across the regional business.
  • Support bids and live projects with understanding the BIM requirements and setting out a strategy for which best suits the client’s needs and the supply chains capabilities.
  • Develop the skills and understanding of others through training and ongoing support so that the BIM duties are and can be undertaken by the project or bid team.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement both at regional and project level


About you

Already experienced as a Digital Construction Manager within a business, you’ll have a good understanding of a range of BIM software, along with experience working within the construction sector, enthusiastically embracing and managing BIM strategies and technologies. Having recently undertaken our BSI BIM Level 2 accreditation assessment, a knowledge of this and BSI requirements will be useful.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Digital Construction Manager to join our Build Team based in London.


Location
: Based out of one of our London offices with travel to site required


Hours
: 37.5 hours per week, flexibility available with start and end times if desired


What will you be responsible for?

As a Digital Construction Coordinator you’ll be working within theDigital Team, focussing on enabling the use of appropriate tools and technologies to support project delivery from inception to in use

Your day to day will include:

  • Support and audit the project team to ensure standards, methods and procedures using specified software / workflows are in use
  • Ensuring Exchange Information Requirements and Asset Information Requirements are responded to and delivered across relevant project(s)
  • Promoting digital strategies that are implemented across the business and projects and provide feedback to Senior Digital Construction Manager to ensure progress is being made and commitment to documentation is being observed
  • Responsible for contributing to monthly reports to identify and measure digital implementation within the business unit and across projects


What are we looking for?

This role of Digital Construction Manager is great for you if:

  • Can discuss in detail openBIM standards such as IFC and COBie to support information interoperability
  • experience of appropriate software tools to view and interrogate models
  • Has good understanding of the ISO 19650 series of documents

What is the overall job?

As an integral part of Multiplex Digital Construction Team, you will take a leading role in implementing the Multiplex Digital Standard throughout all phases of construction. You will work in partnership with the Head of Digital Construction and project leadership to continuously develop and improve the way we deliver construction projects using digital technology processes.

You will be the focal point for all project specific BIM and Digital Construction deliverables through to handover of projects, including and client specific BIM requirements. The role will involve liaising with our internal teams, design consultants and subcontractors in order to plan and execute the project and deliver verifiable cost and time saving improvements. You will be required to undertake any other ad hoc duties as requested by the project team or Head of Digital Construction.

Other key responsibilities and experience will include:

  • Respond to all BIM & Digital Construction related queries.
  • Assess Client Supply Chain and Capability in relation to BIM/Digital Construction.
  • Initial Setup and Management of the Tender Model within Common Data Environment (Revizto)
  • Responsible for the overall quality of all project BIM/Digital models and their use in design coordination
  • Ensure Consultant teams and Sub Contractor teams comply with the project BIM Execution Plan
  • Provide thorough analysis of design quality through model checking
  • Manage the close-out of all design issues arising from the model checking process

What do I need to be successful in this role?

The suitable candidate will have experience in the construction industry, with hands-on experience of Design, Design Management or BIM Management.

  • An excellent understanding of the design and construction process
  • A good understanding of construction contract implementation, primarily JCT.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specification and reports
  • Ability to integrate internal and external project team members on BIM matters
  • Strong project management skills
  • Client facing experience
  • Implementing BIM workflows
  • High level understanding of design, estimating, planning, and construction management processes
