Job Description

Two experienced, resourceful, and trustworthy Housekeepers are required for a private client in the UK. This is a travelling live-in position, where the housekeepers will accompany the client across various countryside locations in the UK (such as the Cotswolds, Cornwall, Jersey, and other rural areas), as well as on trips to Europe, South America, and North America.

The ideal candidates will have a positive disposition, an easy-going and warm character, an excellent temperament, and a caring nature.

It is essential that the housekeepers have a genuine love for dogs and enjoy nature walks, as the client owns a well-tempered, loving, and characterful Dachshund. The housekeepers must be completely trustworthy and capable of taking full responsibility for the dog.

Responsibilities

• Perform classic household chores, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and bed-making, with a strong attention to detail. (The client employs an additional housekeeper who provides weekly support.)
• Pack and unpack for the client’s frequent travels.
• Prepare simple, natural, and healthy meals. (The client also enjoys cooking when time permits.)
• Accompany the client on grocery shopping trips and handle household shopping.
• Walk the dog, both with and without the client.
• Assist the client during travel, including managing luggage, caring for the dog, and ensuring a smooth transition at each destination. Travel destinations may include the UK, France, the US, Ecuador, and beyond.
• Handle mail, deliveries, and coordinate logistics for occasional repairs. Communicate with maintenance personnel or property managers as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role with excellent references.
• Resourceful and competent, with the ability to take initiative.
• A strong sense of responsibility and adaptability to unforeseen circumstances.
• Genuine love for dogs and nature.
• Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
• A dedicated professional with enthusiasm for their duties and a desire to perform at their best.
• Someone who enjoys challenges, continuous learning, and takes pride in their work.

Work conditions

• Position Type: Permanent, full-time.
• Start Date: As soon as possible.
• Accommodation: Live-in, with a private bedroom provided.
• Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
