ABOUT YOU:

You will be required to provide a clean and hygienic environment for the residents, visitors and staff. Maintaining a consistently high standard of service with exceptional standards of cleanliness which ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures. To join our team you will have:

  • Experience within a care home setting caring for older people.
  • You will have a kind and caring approach with a passion for delivering the highest possible standard of support for the residents.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and have a desire to work in a participatory manner with residents and relatives to enable them to achieve desired outcomes and goals.

The recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains robust vetting procedures. The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and an enhanced DBS check.

Dovehaven Care Homes are Recruiting for a Laundry Assistant to join our team at Cedar Garden, Tag Lane, Preston. Four Days a week working 4.30pm – 9.30pm, 20hr contract available.

Cedar Garden is a 30 bed dementia specialist, male only facility. Our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible, our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

About the Role:

As a Laundry you will be responsible for ensuring a clean safe environment is provided for our residents, visitors and staff and be an important part of the team that ensures residents in our care feel valued. Duties will include following a daily schedule, wash residents clothes, ironing, making beds, ensuring all clothes go back to the correct residents room and any other duties as required.

About You:

You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standard of domestic and laundry service to the residents in our care. You will ideally have previous domestic experience and be committed to ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene and appearance. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to older people and be a team player but able to work on your own initiative.

  • Committed to providing service excellence
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Able to provide emotional and social support
  • Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect
