Job Description

At Moonreach, we deliver residential childcare services in Deal that teach, develop, and look after children and young people aged between 7 and 18 years. Due to a planned expansion of our team we’re now looking for people who are dedicated to the welfare and wellbeing of young people in residential care to add to our existing team of Residential Support Workers.

If you have a calm, patient manner, the ability to build effective relationships and a proven track record of working as part of a team we’d love to hear from you.

Whilst previous experience of working with children in a residential setting is desirable, it’s not required as we do offer a full training programme.

The successful applicant will receive:

  • OTE £28,000 – £34,000 (based on a hourly rate and commitment to fixed rate sleep-in shifts)

* Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.

* Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift leaders and Managers.

* Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by the company and Ofsted.

* Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programs.

* Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development.

Experience Required:

* Level 3/4 Diploma in Children’s & Young People’s workforce or equivalent (preferred) or must be willing to undergo the qualification once employed

* Experience working within a children’s residential setting is beneficial but not a requirement

* Ability to interact with a range of people/young people

* To be able to provide consistency of care and support to the young people

* Experience (preferred) working with children who may display
challenging behaviour
