MZT is an early-stage start-up that is pioneering a breakthrough carbon capture technology that can scrub CO2 from the air using a fraction of the energy compared to incumbent technologies developed by the likes of Carbon Engineering and Climeworks. Within nine months of creation, MZT has progressed its technology from concept to bench-scale demonstrator, successfully raising £1m from a mixture of private and government funding. MZT’s technology is a hybrid of approaches, combining efficient solution-phase capture of CO2 with a continuous and compact electrochemical separation technology. We are a 3-person team of co-founders who incorporated the company together in June 2020. After achieving a range of commercial and technical milestones, MZT is now in a strong position to expand and hire its first employees to accelerate technological development.
