– Perform equipment repair and maintenance checks as needed

SPLIT SHIFTS – 5am – 9am / 2pm – 6pm.

– Proficient in operating a forklift and familiar with different types of forklifts
– Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
– Experience with shipping and receiving processes
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
– Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members

Job Description

Driver Hire Southampton is currently recruiting for an experienced Forklift Driver with an accredited B3 Counterbalance licence or Telehandler licence.

As Forklift Truck Driver you will play an essential part in the smooth and efficient running of the Service Centre. It will be your responsibility to move the equipment safely to ensure that it is stored correctly and ready for customers to hire.


About this Forklift Position:

  • 12-week temp to perm position
  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 6:00am and 8:00am (8-10-hour day)
  • Operate forklift to safely move a variety of large equipment around the yard
  • Organise and prepare equipment for hire
  • Check and store hired equipment
  • Always maintain a clean and safe yard/ workshop
  • Liaise with customers during loading and unloading processes


What we require from you as a Forklift Operator:

  • Up to date accredited B3 Counterbalance Forklift licence or Telehandler licence
  • Reliable transport for commuting
  • Physically fit to handle the demands of the job
  • Previous forklift experience on the licence required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Understand and follow the company’s health and safety procedures
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
  • Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety practices.
  • Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed (up to 25 kg).
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving operations is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A valid forklift operator’s licence is required.
