About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join a supportive 3 form entry primary school based in Barnet on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to nurture young learners during a crucial stage in their development, fostering a love for learning and building the foundations of their academic journey. You’ll have the freedom to create an engaging, creative, and supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the KS1 curriculum, supporting students in their early learning stages.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where each child feels valued and supported.
  • Use assessment strategies to monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting lesson plans to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure every child receives the support they need.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and caregivers, sharing progress and building a strong home-school connection.

About You
We’re looking for a passionate and inspiring teacher who is enthusiastic about working with KS1 students. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, patience, and strong organizational skills, along with a commitment to fostering a supportive and fun learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching KS1 or Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a nurturing, positive approach to teaching.

Employment Opportunity

The Board of Trustees wish to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Classroom Teacher. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who will become part of our team. The post holder will be initially deployed to Lakeside Primary Academy.

The Harmony Trust was established in February 2014 and currently has 15 schools. This brings with it exciting opportunities for career progression and development for existing and future employees.


The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with evidence of improving outcomes particularly for those pupils are most vulnerable
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Primary phase
  • Have experience and a secure knowledge of the National Curriculum and Pedagogy
  • Have evidence of the effective use of assessment and analysis in raising standards
  • Have experience of leading others
  • Be able to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower colleagues to carry the vision forward
  • Have a commitment to supporting & developing the learning of SEND learners
  • Support the Principal in delivering the trust priorities as outlined in the Trusts Strategic Plan
