Proven experience of using business and data analysis fundamentals will prove invaluable as the role will be expected to work closely with all services and managers to improve customer service to the residents of Mid Devon and streamline working practices within the organisation.

Experience of implementing software tools to achieve productivity goals would also be beneficial.

The role will be required to work with the Corporate Management Team to organise, schedule and provide the appropriate framework for delivery of the transformation agenda and support the delivery of corporate-wide solutions.

Some out-of-hours work may be required for planned maintenance, upgrades and emergencies. Ability to work onsite or at one of our satellite offices is essential.

About the role:

As part of the Commercial Transformation team, our Business Analysts enable effective decision-making, delivering a mix of both strategic and regulatory driven change, ensuring the right solution is delivered to the business

You’ll support the development of compelling and robust business cases founded on accurate root cause of analysis; supported by detailed impacts analysis, evidence-based decision making and benefits measurement. You will have exposure to a wide range of Drax’s business activities.

Working with the business and IT you’ll analyse solution options and recommend the best solution for the business, ensuring the right solution is delivered by defining detailed business requirements and modelling the as-is and to-be states, including processes, information, systems and people.

You’ll communicate and champion the change, supporting stakeholders to both understand and measure benefit realisation in order to validate success.


Who we’re looking for:

You’ll have significant experience of working within a similar role and you’ll be able to demonstrate your experience within business analytics within commercial transformation.

Drawing upon your experience, you’ll be adaptable, working across a varied level and range of projects. A qualification within Business Analytics or similar would be highly desirable but not essential.

Organised and structured, you’ll be well versed in dealing with a wide range of project documentation, keeping it up to date and relevant in a timely manner.

Your capability to assimilate large volumes of information and translate it into business problems, requirements and solutions will be fantastic – as will your ability to make recommendations based on that information, combined with your understanding of stakeholder need.

The team is a busy one, working at pace in an often evolving environment, so you’ll need to be adaptable and resilient, and enjoy working in a continual improvement environment.

You’ll enjoy a challenge, like variety and relish working in a complex environment. With a proven track record as a Business Analyst, you will have a wide range of analysis skills in your toolkit.

We are searching for a highly motivated and talented Business Analyst to become a core member of our Transformation Team in our London Bridge office. You will play a pivotal role in the analysis, design, and implementation of prioritized transformative initiatives to drive advancements throughout our organization.

Collaborating closely with all facets of the global business, the Transformation team and the broader Business Operations team are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our customers and colleagues by streamlining, scaling, and optimizing processes and systems. The purpose of your role

You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to discover, analyse and agree business requirements for enhancements to their software product and then convert these into coherent functional and non-functional requirements, suitable for use by the software development, test and support teams, and produce appropriate business documentation for use by the wider team.


What you’ll do

Your role will have lots of variety, be fast-paced and challenging at times. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the Comparison Creator software product/s
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Analyse business processes associated with enhancement requests
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and identify the underlying true needs from stakeholder requests

This is a key role in our Business Analysis team and while you will be working as part of a wider team, you will be the sole business analyst working on Comparison Creator products and you will also be located from a different office. Therefore, it is essential you have already been working for a significant period as a Business Analyst.

Team Set-Up

The role is hybrid so you will need to be able to commute comfortably to the Comparison Creator offices, which are located in Cwmbran in South Wales – an easy commute from Cardiff, Newport and Bristol. The team tend to work from the office a couple of times each week.

You will have frequent calls with your BA colleagues and around once a month, you’ll be expected to travel to the Haddenham office, which is Defaqto HQ.

The role
You’ll play a key role in MAG Technology’s product & change function, charged with helping us to transform our business through technology, digital and automation; supporting the development of product strategy and the technology change roadmap. Working with Business and Technology stakeholders, you’ll identify and understand business issues and needs; define and shape technology change projects and programmes and support delivery; test and service transition as well as contributing to the realisation of business benefits.
