Following our major investment in our Dungannon dealership we require vehicle mechanics.

To work on Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles, we welcome CVs from both Light Vehicle Mechanics & Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, we would also consider Level 2 apprentices.

Contracted hours of work: 40 hours per week

Week 1: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3.30pm

Week 2: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm

Week 3: Monday to Thursday 1.45pm to 9pm, Fri 1pm to 5.30pm and Saturday 7:00am – 1pm

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

1. 3. Take responsibility for the safe management of materials, chemicals, tools, equipment and instrumentation according to the levels of associated risk during the ordering, storage, use and disposal process with reference to COSHH Regulations and other relevant H&S legislation

4. Deal with materials, tools and equipment for workshop sessions including keeping a record of all materials used in order to effectively manage stock levels, ordering, unloading of delivered materials, preparation for sessions, issuing to students and monitoring its use, in compliance with H&S and COSHH regulations

5. Understand and provide advice to students and staff on relevant legislation, policies and procedures that have an impact upon the role and service, including assisting candidates to compile portfolios in accordance with the requirements of the awarding organisation

6. Meet regularly with lecturers, assessors and the Internal Verifier to standardise assessment decisions.

7. Assist with the delivery of apprenticeship training programmes both in the work place and in College as required by the Head of Department.

8. Undertake training alongside other curriculum staff in preparation to deliver the new or updated qualifications. In addition all post holders will be required to be trained to act as Fire Marshals and First Aiders.

Job Description

A rare and attractive opportunity has arisen for a skilled TECHNICIAN to join a sports car service and repair business near Honiton.

This business is the leading independent specialist for one of the world’s most renowned high-performance brands. Over 30 years’ experience makes them the first choice for owners of the marque, catering for all their servicing, repair, and maintenance requirements at their fully equipped modern workshop that holds the latest tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology.

They now require a multi-skilled, conscientious, experienced Technician, ideally with their level 3 – or equivalent – qualification (although well-skilled level 2 Technicians will also be considered).

You’ll be working a Monday to Friday week, in a friendly supportive team environment where your skills and hard work will be well-rewarded and appreciated.

Salary: £36,017 Basic plus uncapped OTE Based on individual time saved, team profit and CSI Bonus
Hours: 45 hour working week with weekends on a rota basis

The role

As a skilled technician, you will join a team of experts supporting one of our popular brands in our state-of-the-art facilities. Full manufacturer training is provided so there is no need to have specific brand experience. You can expect regular manufacturer specific training to keep you up to date with the latest technology through both manufacturer training and our Marshall Academy.

Who you are

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with technical expertise to work at pace
  • A team-player who is comfortable operating with set processes and procedures
  • A qualified Vehicle Technician with an industry recognised qualification, ideally level 3 but level 2 will be considered (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Ability to carry out MOT’s is desirable, but not essential as full training will be offered
  • Motivated, dedicated and organised with a focus on Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Tech savvy and confident using iPad software

What you’ll do

  • Carry out servicing and maintenance of all vehicles across the brand
  • Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters
  • Vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil and are filters
  • Completing job cards and electronic write ups on franchise platforms
  • Completion of electronic vehicle health checks (eVHC’s)
  • Support Apprentice Technicians as required
