Mellors Catering Services, an award-winning family business, was established back in 1840 as a local bakery, and is the first choice contract caterer in the north for staff restaurants, schools and colleges. Award winning company with EduCatering Excellent Awards winning the Innovation category for the Mellors Big Red Bus.
We operate more than 300 catering contracts in education and business sites across the North of England. Employing over 1800 people to drive the business forward; Mellors supports their employees learning and development through funded Apprenticeship schemes with our training partner HIT Training. We are encouraging all employees to undertake both short courses on a variety of topics and formal Apprenticeship programs. Mellors also employees two qualified Mental Health First Aiders to support health and wellbeing of their employees providing constant support through our Absence Hotline.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic Mellors has communicated with employees through our Staff Care Notes communication brief, keeping employees up to date with changes in legislation, well-being and mental health support and techniques, training opportunities and company updates.
