Senior Social Worker – Long Term Team

Up to £37 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Long Term Team within the London Borough of Barnet. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases, including court work. You will provide expert guidance and support to your team, ensuring high-quality practice and positive outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop comprehensive care plans
  • Represent the Local Authority in court proceedings
  • Provide expert advice and supervision to junior staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of team policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a multi-agency approach to safeguarding

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree and registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience working within a Children’s Services setting
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
