About the role

As the Driver Technician for Medequip Assistive Technologies you will be delivering and installing health related products. This is not just a delivery and installation role, you will be pivotal in providing life enhancing equipment, a second to none customer service experience and assurance that Medequip are a trusted and reliable organisation.

This role will require you to work flexibly to suit the needs of the business as well as being able to participate in an emergency on-call rota.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Driving to customer’s homes, acting in a respectful, polite and approachable manor
  • Delivering, collecting, installing and repairing healthcare equipment
  • Demonstrating the use and functionality of the equipment to our customers
  • Delivering exceptional customer facing service with care, empathy, integrity and kindness
  • Basic DIY tasks
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to suit the needs of the business.
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rota.
  • Enhancing the lives of our customers by providing medical and care equipment and a first-class service with every home visit.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • You must have a full UK driving licence (minimum of 3 years)
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to suit the needs of the business and participate in an emergency on-call rota.

We are currently looking for a Community Equipment Technician to join the team within our Devon Community Equipment Service Centre. This position plays a crucial role in helping to transform the lives of those in need.

As a healthcare equipment provider, Millbrook Healthcare work in partnership with the NHS to supply the necessary equipment and aids to support people in their day to day life. Our community equipment ranges from simple walking frames and crutches to more complex equipment such as beds, hoists and pressure care equipment. We also carry out minor adaptations such as the installation of handrails and grab rails within the home which can make a significant impact in giving people the confidence to live more independently.

As a Community Equipment Technician with us you will be responsible for the delivery, installation and collection of community equipment within people’s homes and associated locations such as care homes, hospitals and schools across Devon. You may also be involved in the servicing and repair of equipment.

  • Previous relevant experience is preferable however full training will be provided
  • You must hold a full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years) with no more than 6 points
  • You must be able to load and unload goods, some of which may be heavy
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential
  • Due to the adaptations side of the role, basic DIY skills are advantageous
  • Previous van driving experience would be beneficial
  • This role will be part of Same Days and OOH rota involving cover at weekends

  • Tuesday – Saturday 08.00 – 18.00 with on-call
