Our business is founded in local communities where we deliver the highest standards of care to people, their homes and their environment. We strongly believe in the benefits of combining housing and care approaches, to give the best possible service and to help tackle the deep rooted challenges to the NHS and Social Care.
A desire to make a positive difference wherever we operate has always been at the heart of our business. It was 30 years ago when we were a small maintenance contractor with a single van; and it still is now we are a truly national company.
With 30 years of delivering market-leading repairs, refurbishment, fire safety and building maintenance services, Mears is trusted to deliver in excess of 6,000 housing repairs daily to a portfolio of more than 1,000,000 homes nationwide.
We provide Housing Management services right across the UK. We work in partnership with Central and Local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.
We have built on our work to integrate housing and care contracts, at the front line delivery of service but also in the creation of new specialist accommodation, such as Supported Living housing and Extra Care property. Mears currently provides care and support services to 21 extra care schemes across the country and have 10 years’ experience of providing services in these types of settings. Our services are provided in a wide range of schemes, including small buildings with a few properties and large sites with over 80 apartments. Within some local authority areas we manage services across multiple schemes.
