Job Description

The Accountant – Financial Reporting will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring that KPI’s and SLA are met.
  • Own and maintain Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and internal controls.
  • Support Management to actively seek ways of improving process efficiencies.
  • Finding the solutions to day-to-day challenges
  • Supporting the Group Financial Controller to help develop the Team


Financial Reporting

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and month end reporting for three subsidiary companies.
  • Ensure accuracy of Intercompany transactions, reporting and settlement of balances
  • Prepare monthly consolidated Group Management Accounts.
  • Coordinate with colleagues in the Finance Team to prepare the Month End reporting pack for publication.
  • Manage the Fixed asset and HP registers and associated processes with other departments
  • Ensure control accounts and balance sheet accounts are reconciled.
  • Manage the Property register for the group ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the year end audit for McQueen’s Group
  • Prepare Financial Account Summaries and Tax Returns for several Trusts within the Group


Accounts Payable

  • Support the Accounts Payable Team and be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the Accounts Payable Ledger
  • Manage and reconcile GRIR process
  • Support the Procure-to-pay (P-2-P) process across the business.
  • Provide technical support for P-2-P for the Manufacturing team


General

  • Implement activities prioritised under the corporate Risk & Controls review


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a complex Finance function would be advantageous
  • An awareness of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures relating to Procure-to Pay process
  • Experience in working with non-finance colleagues to ensure financial compliance.
  • Part Qualified (or equivalent)
