The role will offer a mixture of design, lab work and field trials and you will work as part of a team in a fast paced environment delivering technology for the next generation of capability to the UK armed forces.</p>

The successful applicant will be experienced in the prototype design and laboratory testing of optical assemblies. Speed, creativity and the ability to experiment will be key to the role, and you will conduct research on new techniques for laser pointing and tracking and be at the forefront of laser directed energy research.</p>

The opportunity:</b></p>

As the Lead Architect, you will be responsible for the generation of all architectural artefacts within the boundary of TP15 Mission Planning &amp; Control through a combination of your own work, as well as guiding other architects within the team. This project, and hence role, covers multiple product offerings, and as the Lead Architect, you will have the opportunity to strive to maximise modularity and re-use across these, as well as heavily support and influence the design process.</p>
<p>
The Lead Architect role reports into the Head of TP15 Mission Planning &amp; Control, and is expected to work and collaborate across other 1st reports to deliver on the overarching team objectives, on time, on cost and on quality.</p>

What we&#8217;re looking for from you:<br />

<li>Strong background in complex systems architecture &ndash; including having been a practitioner of MBSE in a relevant environment.</li>

<p>Working in Delivery Management, you will oversee the successful execution of IT service projects that significantly impact Defence. This role ensures the successful delivery of projects, products, and services by coordinating teams, managing timelines, removing obstacles, and ensuring alignment with Defence Digital goals. Focusing on facilitating collaboration, tracking progress, and maintaining quality standards throughout the delivery process will be key.</p>
