The CMO Category Manager is part of the Global Procurement Team within the Supply Chain and reports to Head of Procurement. This position will be responsible for managing and optimizing our procurement processes for contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). Working closely with internal stakeholders, including External Manufacturing Team, R&amp;D, quality assurance, and supply chain teams, to ensure that the CMO procurement strategies align with the company&#8217;s objectives and regulatory requirements. It&rsquo;s expected that the Category Manager will lead and contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest product quality standards and compliance.</p>

Role Responsibility</b></p>

Collaborate with the External Manufacturing team in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for contract manufacturing operations for Dechra products, predominantly pharmaceutical and diets.</li>

Collaborate with External Manufacturing Team in negotiation and manage contracts with CMOs to ensure favourable terms and conditions.</li>
<li>
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify procurement needs and drive efficiency in sourcing activities.</li>
<li>
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance</li>
<li>
Collaborate with the External Manufacturing team in conducting market analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and offerings.</li>
<li>
Lead initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness and optimize the procurement process for contract manufacturing.</li>
<li>
Leads the category team comprising of Category Procurement Specialist/s</li>
<li>
Builds Group procurement best practices to identify and deliver sustained year on year pipeline of opportunities.</li>
<li>
Proactively partners and aligns with the External Manufacturing Team, Product Development, Regulatory, QC and Global Supply site teams, as well as support functions to ensure delivery of the strategic and operational needs of the business. Guarantees operational performance by being a pro-active business partner.</li>
<li>
Responsible for continuously gathering Market Intelligence to ensure market competitiveness and transparency of current terms of cooperation with suppliers.</li>

<b>Skills and experience needed:</b></p>

Experienced procurement professional with min. 5 years of experience ideally in an international manufacturing organisation</li>
<li>
Expertise in number of product related procurement categories within Pharmaceutical or other chemically regulated industry</li>
<li>
In-depth knowledge of procurement systems and best practices</li>
<li>
Working knowledge of multi-site ERP systems (Oracle preferred)</li>
<li>
Experience in leading international procurement projects.</li>
<li>
Good understanding of contractual terms and conditions.</li>
<li>
Good knowledge of suppliers market and environment.</li>
<li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Life Sciences or supply chain management or equivalent work experience.</li>

The Opportunity</b><br />
Working closely with the wider Supply Chain team, you&#8217;ll be responsible for coordinating the approval and implementation of printed and packaging components across multiple products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.</p>
<p><b>So, w</b><b>hat will you be doing?</b><br />
This is a great opportunity to embed yourself within the manufacturing and supply process and play an integral role, bridging various teams together across supply chain, MS&amp;T and Packaging.</p>
<p>There are roughly 200+ updates to various products and line extensions per year. The artwork team is responsible for managing the whole process. These updates can be in relation to SKU&#8217;s (stock keeping units) or product families i.e packaging labels, leaflets and cartons. Information may need changing or updating on various elements such as regulatory changes to addresses, patient safety regulations or adding in additional countries.</p>
<p>
Other elements of the day to day may involve:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Working with the Packing department to arrange trials on any significant component changes</li>
<li>
Support the introduction of new products to the business (or significant changes to existing products including line extensions) liaising with all departments as necessary. This includes responsibility for the generation and approval of relevant documentation i.e. specifications, packing batch records, product formulation sheets etc. and holding meetings as necessary</li>
<li>
Liaising with customers/suppliers to ensure new artworks are introduced in a controlled manner. Co-ordinate stock usage, ensuring the reject procedure is followed through to its natural conclusion</li>
<li>
Liaise with relevant departments and personnel such as Quality, Production, Regulatory Affairs, Affiliate Regulatory Representatives, Marketing and Production Planners to ensure the timely generation and approval of printed component changes</li>
</ul>

So, what do I need to bring to the table?</b><br />
<b>This is a fast paced environment with lots of moving parts throughout the lifecycle of various products. We&#8217;re looking for someone who has high attention to detail and can work effectively to tight deadlines. You&#8217;ll be expected to multi-task effectively across various projects, each at different stages.</b></p>

Role Responsibility</b></p>
<p>So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:</p>

Create and maintain master data objects at global level within the Oracle Cloud and other solutions including Items and Suppliers.</li>
<li>
Ensure compliance with the business&rsquo;s quality, financial and regulatory policies.</li>
<li>
Support the business users in preparing and submitting accurate information regarding the different data objects.</li>
<li>
Guide users across the business and any stakeholders through the relevant master data procedures.</li>
<li>
Maintain the integrity of the master data at the global level.</li>
<li>
Train and educate new business users of the correct master data processes as needed.</li>
<li>
Work closely with local teams to support the integrity of the data at all levels of the business.</li>
<li>
Contribute where needed to the wider data enterprise across other areas of the Dechra business and IT applications.</li>
<li>
Own the standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding master data and reviewing and updating accordingly at regular intervals.</li>
<li>
Raise and own change controls for master data.</li>
</ul>

This role will work across functions and divisions within Dechra and lead the best practice approach, as well as being responsible for managing two data stewards.</p>

<p>So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:</p>

Responsible for defining, documenting and agreeing all processes and operating procedures in the data collection, storage and maintenance, based on improvement and best practice, to be applicable to all Dechra locations worldwide.</li>
<li>
Act as subject matter expert for data ownership, leading and contributing to all project phases from requirements definition through to live operations.</li>
<li>
Drive the implementation of process changes that support an appropriate process solution, including a full impact assessment of the changes at each site and divisionally.</li>
<li>
Liaise with local teams responsible for the system and user acceptance testing, data cleansing and migration and end user training.</li>
<li>
Continual evaluation and appraisal of the solution with regular validation and implementation of new fields as required.</li>
<li>
Act as the Lead for data cleanse of existing master data fields for Items, Customers and Suppliers, working with local finance, administration and master data teams to implement the global standards.</li>
<li>
Develop and implement a process for identification of new master data sets created in underlying systems and harmonising with Global Master Data standards.</li>
<li>
Ensure that all new master data items have been approved by the relevant internal parties (such as Strategic Marketing, Group Tax, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing).</li>
<li>
Monitor Data Quality dashboard metrics and report back to local data owners and to senior leadership teams, explaining rationale for movements and identifying actions required.</li>
<li>
Help to embed a data driven culture across the business.</li>
</ul>
