Job Summary
We are seeking academic tutors experienced in working with children aged 4 to 11 to join our tutor team at Kamakala Kids House. You must have at least three years experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English (ideally both) to children within this age range.

Lessons are conducted at the student’s homes so you must be willing to travel for the lessons. We are only looking to take on board tutors who can teach lessons in person (the pay is £40 p/h). Most of our students live in the Dulwich area and surrounding (e.g. Clapham, Nunhead, Forest Hill) so you must be happy to travel to Dulwich to teach.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure understanding and retention of material.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
• Maintain records of student performance and feedback for future reference.

Experience

• Three years prior experience in tutoring or teaching roles is necessary
• Familiarity with special education practices and strategies is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with students and parents.
• A background in education or a related field will be beneficial.
• A genuine passion for educating children and helping them succeed academically is crucial for this role.

Pay: £30.00-£40.00 per hour
