Agency Child Support Worker
Job Description
DegreeSix Recruitment is a specialist agency – exclusively working with Residential Children Homes, supporting children aged 6 – 18.
We provide Support Workers to support children with Childhood Trauma, Attachment, Learning Disabilities/Difficulties, Mental Health needs and Emotional/Challenging Behaviours.
About The Role?
We’re recruiting for temporary/bank Support Workers, supporting various children homes across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire for short to medium term cover needs. [Please note – this is a 0 hours contract and offers no guaranteed work]
You’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple different homes across different companies – with flexibility to pick up Day, Sleepovers or Night shifts.
We are looking for experienced Support Workers with the knowledge, compassion and patience to support and develop positive relationships with the children in care.
Duties Of The Role?
- Providing emotional support and mentoring,
- Following care plans and ensuring correct safeguarding practices,
- Engaging with both staff and young people on shift through fun and educational activities to develop their interests and hobbies,
- Teaching life skills to promote independence,
- Support home with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning and other household tasks,
Requirements For The Roles?
- Required – 3 Months of Support Worker experience in UK Children homes or 6 Months with Adult services
- Required – UK Driving Licence with access to own vehicle
- Preferable – Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Online update service (New required, if not registered Online)
Please note – We do not provide any job training, so experience is required.
