The role
This is an exciting new role in which you’ll be responsible for evaluating the performance of our airfield, optimising how we use our aerodrome assets and enhancing the overall efficiency of aircraft operations, thus enabling the delivery of the Manchester Airport Aviation Growth Strategy. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities to improve service and contribute to the achievement of corporate sustainability targets (Net Zero). This role will be responsible for the overall performance of the runway, taxiway and aircraft turnaround flows at Manchester Airport, and will work alongside another Airfield Performance Lead to deliver our plans.
The role will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive analytics and insights capability and identifying opportunities to drive improvements in operational performance and demand throughput. The role will also be responsible for commissioning new continuous improvement projects and workstreams and supporting their integration into daily operations, working in partnership with MAG operational teams, airline customers and service partners. The Airfield Performance Lead will also support the integration of planned capital investments in infrastructure and technology, ensuring the benefits of investment are fully realised and optimised.
What will make you successful in the role?
We are looking for someone with change and project management capabilities and experience of leading continuous improvement projects in a highly complex and multi-stakeholder operational environment. You’ll have experience of applying lean management techniques, e.g. six sigma and developing and writing strategies, plans and business cases. You’ll be analytical with an ability to draw insight from data and develop management information systems and report performance against KPI’s. You’ll also have stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
