We’re looking to employ an assistant manager to support the managers in the day to day running of the company, liasing with families, liaising with care staff, conducting investigations, and audits, managing out-of-hours every other weekend – and keeping the company safe on the managers absence, completing care plans, supporting with company growth, risk assessments and working on the front line (this is imperative to be effective at the role.)

A* full driving license, use of a vehicle required, including a level 3 in care and above (or working towards) *

Hours: 28.5hrs per week + any time required when on-call every other weekend.

SALARY

  • £14ph
  • £60 for every other weekend on call/standby + paid additionally @ £14 ph for any time disturbed, or any visits you’ve needed to cover with yourself.
  • 25p per mile travelled to cover petrol costs, (and can claim a further 20p for each mile from HMRC each year).
  • £18.75 Bank Holidays (if needed)
  • £20ph Christmas Day (if needed)
  • Cost of DBS will be reimbursed in the first pay

The desired candidate must:

  • Be bubbely and friendly
  • Have a welcoming and helpful telephone manner
  • Have good computer skills and typing speed
  • Have a good level of literacy
  • Be passionate about care and people
  • Be a fast learner
  • Have a level 3 in care, or working towards

What is on call/standby?

Oncall/standby means that you are resposible for the running of the company in the manager’s absence every other weekend. This means managing any potential abcenses with covering staff (if you cannot cover it with staff, you would then need to fulfill the visits yourself) , responding to carers or service users urgent needs (i.e a required medication has ran out of stock, or a carer cannot enter a persons home, or a service user is returning from hospital and needs visits reinstated. etc
