A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join Knowleswood Primary School.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Headteacher to formulate the aims and objectives of the school and provide strategic leadership, establish policies and manage staff and resources. In addition, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the school’s accelerated improvement journey by driving high standards of teaching, learning, and leadership.

Knowleswood Primary School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support strategic, curriculum-led financial planning to ensure effective use of budgets and resources.

Due to maternity leave, the Governors, staff and pupils are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated, inspirational and successful school leader with specific responsibility for Inclusion, including the SENDCo role, from 22 April 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of SEND policies and practices across school, alongside supporting the school with all areas of leadership.

Swanwick School & Sports College is an ‘Outstanding’ school providing an exciting and relevant education for young people with additional needs including Moderate and Severe Learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and ASD. Pupil ability ranges from pre key stage standards to working within the Primary Curriculum objectives. We also offer a variety of qualifications including GCSE where appropriate.

The Governors and Headteachers are looking to recruit an exceptional Assistant Headteacher and outstanding classroom practitioner who is a passionate and visionary leader for SEND.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and analysing data systems to track pupil progress, Attendance and Inclusion at a whole school level.

This will include working alongside our proactive Pastoral Team to ensure pupils who struggle to attend site still receive a high-quality provision. This might include organising Alternative Provision, conducting welfare checks and monitoring of part time timetables.

The successful candidate will oversee these areas of responsibility to ensure every young person receives a relevant and appropriate curriculum irrelevant of their needs.

This position will have a reduced teaching commitment and will primarily involve teaching pupils of secondary age mostly working within the primary curriculum. Applications from primary, secondary and SEND practitioners are encouraged.

The successful candidate will be someone who can create and deliver stimulating lessons, lead by example and able to support Teachers to develop their practice.
