Here, You’ll Go Beyond Numbers

We’re looking for a talented Audit Executive who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces the chance to tackle complex challenges. At MHA, you’ll be surrounded by passionate professionals who are dedicated to making a difference. Your work in Audit will go beyond the numbers – it’s about building meaningful client relationships, understanding their businesses, navigating risks, and delivering insights that drive real results.

  • Deal with correspondence from clients
  • Agree timing of work/scheduling with clients
  • Regularly review and give feedback on work
  • Manage own portfolio of clients (where appropriate)
  • Ensure the planning memorandum is produced, identify risk areas and most efficient method of gathering audit evidence
  • Produce draft budget if required
  • Delegate, supervise and review work of seniors and juniors, ensuring the file is complete and all review points addressed before it is passed to the Partner or Manager
  • Monitor work in progress on all jobs within the portfolio, communicating any potential problems and write offs to the Partners or Managers on a timely basis
  • Undertake critical audit areas (in a few key jobs where appropriate)
  • Excluding audits, be aware of other MHA services and products which may be appropriate to the clients
  • Monitor filing deadlines and ensure deadlines are achieved, including corporation tax and Companies House filings.


What We’re Looking For

  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified – with experience in practice
  • Newly qualified or 1 year of post qualified experience required
  • Computer packages – Excel, Word, Sage, Alpha Tax, CaseWare, VPM/Central
  • Supervisory experience – ability to manage and delegate effectively
  • Client focus and commercially aware
  • Communication – oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments
  • Organisation skills – the ability to juggle a number of different tasks at once

  • You will play an integral role in your department, delivering high quality work and expanding your knowledge and skills across audits and assignments of varying complexity.
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring key risks are addressed during the audit process, utilising your growing network of specialists for advice when needed.
  • An Executive will operate as a key member of the team, having built strong relationships with your clients. You will understand your client’s business objectives and be able to adapt your advice and provide meaningful solutions that they can put into practice.
  • You will be expected to start focusing on continuous improvement, looking to differentiate our services through planning, researching best practice and utilising technology in order to provide best in class client service.
  • You will support the development and engagement of the team, looking for areas of improvement and providing additional support and training where required.


What We’re Looking For

  • Up to date technical knowledge of Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Departmental objectives and key performance indicators
  • Awareness of the firm’s services and product offering
  • ICAEW and /or ACCA exam structure, work experience and ethics training requirements
  • Knowledge of student competencies
  • Is technically competent and compliant and gives due consideration to risk.
  • Is able to produce realistic projections and comment on draft projections versus historic accounts.
  • Generates ideas for clients and for the firm, striving for improvements and efficiencies
  • Plans to makes effective use of time and consistently meets deadlines
  • Demonstrates attention to detail
  • Is able to undertake internal projects, communicate findings and see through to completion
  • Builds effective relationships internally across departments and externally
