An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a thriving and growing accountancy firm in Milton Keynes as an Audit Senior. This role is ideal for a proactive and skilled auditor who is ready to take on responsibility across a diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audits from planning through to completion for a wide range of clients.
  • Prepare and deliver audit reports to the Audit Manager within set deadlines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, reviewing their work and supporting their development.
  • Conduct audits in specialised sectors, ensuring compliance with sector-specific regulations.
  • Build strong client relationships, offering exceptional service and identifying additional service opportunities.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA qualified, or equivalent, with solid audit and accounts experience.
  • Proven experience working across a variety of sectors, including regulated industries such as Charities, FCA, and Solicitors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, with the ability to apply them in client engagements.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

  • To prepare assignments to strict deadlines (accounts, tax, briefing notes), reporting either directly to director/partner or on more complex assignments to senior manager.
  • To liaise with the director/partner or manager to organise assignments (book with clients and organise staff).
  • To use allocated staff and provide appropriate supervision.
  • To liaise in particular with relevant departments to make sure compliance work is planned at the right time.
  • Collate project raw data and summarise into suitable format for review (e.g. first draft projections/reports).


What We’re Looking For

  • Studying advanced stage ACA or ACCA
  • Basic tax knowledge – how to prepare corporation tax computations
  • Computer experience – Sage, Excel, Word and ideally CaseWare
  • Previous experience of supervising junior members of staff preferable (6-12 months experience)
  • Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards
  • Communication – oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments
  • Organised – ability to deal with a variety of tasks and managing a varied workload
  • Client focused
  • Commercially aware

About the role

Primarily your role will be to lead a team of Auditors and to manage field audits from planning to completion for a range of our clients. You will be responsible for leading and training Audit Juniors and reviewing their work and you will also work closely with managers and partners with running their portfolios to ensure all files are technically compliant. You will also have exposure to compiling accounts as well as corporate tax returns.
