Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baby room leader to join our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the day to day running of our 12 place Baby room, ensuring all staff are providing a nurturing and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a passion for working with children, particularly the under 2’s. As a room leader, you will be responsible for managing staff, communicating effectively with parents and guardians, and fostering a nurturing environment for children.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support staff during shifts to ensure high-quality childcare and education is delivered.
  • Manage daily operations, including staff deployment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as organisational policies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for both children and staff.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, promoting professional development and teamwork.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children’s learning and development.
  • Work cooperatively with higher management to implement changes new new initiatives

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with staff, parents, and children.
  • 2 years Previous experience working with children under 2 in a nursery or early childhood education setting is essential for this role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Kindred Nurseries has a rare opportunity for a motivating early years leader to inspire a small team within the baby unit.

This is a role for someone with an in depth knowledge and understanding of baby development and behaviour. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape this leadership position and share their width and breadth of the incredible development of babies aged 2 years and under.

This is a full-time position requiring the successful candidate to flexibly work 40 hours Monday to Friday. This role is offering a competitive salary £14.00 – £15.00 per hour with an extensive benefits package and the opportunity to feed your passion for growth and development.

The key responsibilities for a Baby Room Specialist is to:

  • Support and educate the team and parents on the development and milestones of babies, including sleep and safe sleeping, feeding, nutrition and weaning
  • Educate others on the importance and delivery of attachment and bonding
  • Model and monitor best practice in carrying and handling of babies
  • Work closely with your team to create a shared vision of the room
  • Supervise, support, and allocate tasks and duties to your team
  • Support with new starter inductions, welcoming them to the team and wider Kindred family
  • Performance management when required through supervisions and one to one meeting’s
  • Deputise in the absence of Senior Management
  • Conduct nursery tours with confidence to prospective parents
  • Be a key holder for the nursery

To be successful for this role you should:

  • Hold a full and relevant Early Years Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher
  • Have experience working with children aged under two
  • Have good time management, meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Provide outstanding customer service

Kidzcare is the first business in the Scottish childcare sector to transition to employee ownership. We are proud to be the first Employee-Owned Childcare Company since January 2022.

We are looking for a fun, nurturing, committed and experienced person to join our team at Norwood House.

Our nursery caters for 66-children a day (3 months-5 years) and is based in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh. We are open from 8 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday. This role would be full-time time which is 4 working days between Monday and Friday.

Our Blossoms Room Leader (0-18 months) would work in partnership with the staff team of the room to coordinate planning, day-to-day organisation, and operation of the nursery room. The role is to assist in providing high quality play opportunities and care for children in an inclusive environment and in accordance with the ethos of Kidzcare.

Main Duties Include: –

  • Have professional knowledge of young children and be aware and act upon the individual children’s needs within the nursery. Impart this knowledge onto the team by demonstrating and sharing good practice.
  • Develop a stable, friendly, and trusting relationship with the children. Ensure the staff team mirror this relationship.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the child-centered approach, and the relevant curriculum for your age group and impart this knowledge to the team.
  • Plan and provide a variety of stimulating play and development opportunities and activities which will aid the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of the children in line with the relevant curriculum. This should incorporate children’s next steps
  • Work in partnership with parents and external agencies.
  • Communicate with the whole staff team and ensure Blossoms is a positive and happy place to be for staff, parents and children.
