Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor

Location: Northolt (UB5)
School Type: SEN Secondary School
Start Date: ASAP
Position Type: Full-time, 1:1 Support

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to support our teenage pupils with complex behaviour issues. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who struggle with impulsivity, boundary-setting, and maintaining focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to stay focused and engaged in lessons.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, creating a safe environment where they feel supported and understood.
  • Work closely with the teaching team to anticipate triggers and provide proactive support before behaviours escalate.
  • Help students navigate lessons, offering guidance and facilitating their learning and development.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour management and support.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with students with complex behavioural needs.
  • Be strong, firm, yet friendly and kind in managing student behaviour.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with students and anticipate their needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to support the wider class dynamic.
  • Hold a current child and adult DBS on the update service.
