Job Description

Kids R Us are looking for individuals who are interested in working with children at our Breakfast Club located at Moulton CEVC Primary School in Moulton, Newmarket (CB8 8PR)

We are looking for hardworking and passionate play co-ordinators who are willing to work within our clubs using our ethos, values, policies, framework and procedures. We’d like individuals who have lots of game and activity ideas for indoors and outdoors with children.

This role would entail working hours

7:30am-9:00am – Tuesday & Thursday (term time only)

Bank for Monday, Wednesday & Friday

Holiday club – to be discussed

You would work alongside the club staff in providing quality care for children. Fun, friendly and patient are all highly valued qualities you will need. You would be using your initiative to deliver good quality play sessions with the children.

Must have some understanding of play work, child protection and safeguarding or willing to undertake training on this.

Breakfast Club Playworker Role Outline

Role Summary

This role provides operational and administrative support to the Primary School Breakfast Club provisions.

This position is responsible for the smooth delivery of the Breakfast Club provision based at the Trust’s primary schools. You will be responsible for all aspects of managing the breakfast offer, play environment, delivering high quality pre-school provision, engaging with the children, dealing with parents and liaising with the schools and Trust.

The role requires a highly child centred approach, the development of creative play contexts, and a strong understanding of safeguarding.

Time Commitment

Term time only 7.5 hours per week during term time, 7.15am – 8.45am. Additional hours may be offered during the school holidays. The role holder will be expected to be flexible.

Reports to: The Club Manager

Club Playworkers work to provide good quality play and educational provision for all children aged 4 – 11 at WLFSP/ECFSP/KPA before and after the formal school day. They uphold the ethos and values of the
Knowledge Schools Trust Primaries, support colleagues, both professionally and personally and work constructively as part of a team.

A high standard of professional conduct is expected at all time and Club Playworkers must demonstrate judgement and integrity in confidential dealings with pupils, parents, and staff.

All employees will need to exercise flexibility in their work schedules. Playworkers should demonstrate a constructive and flexible approach to all aspects of their duties.

Club Playworkers are important staff members of the Knowledge Schools Trust and should help to foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere in school which enables the pupils to learn and play contentedly.
