Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role:

The Buyer will primarily focus on sourcing quality products for the Alfresia, Fire Mountain, and Vitinni brands while using their expertise to provide strategic suggestions for the Minky brand. The role encompasses improving customer experience and achieving financial targets by translating business strategies into commercially successful product ranges, managing product life cycles, and maintaining ethical and sustainable supply chain practices.

Key Responsibilities:

· Strategic Range Management:

o Develop product ranges aligned with business strategies for each brand.

o Plan and execute new product launches, ensuring market readiness.

o Provide insights on market trends and customer needs to identify new product opportunities.

· Commercial Success:

o Own business cases for products, managing profitability and commercial performance.

o Ensure accurate product information is available for product copy creation across selling channels.

o Maintain ongoing product availability through effective stock control and range management.

· Product Life Cycle Management:

o Oversee product lifecycle from development to end-of-life clearance at minimal cost.

o Conduct market research and range reviews to ensure offerings meet customer demands.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Liaise with Product Executive, E-commerce team, and Quality Assurance to ensure product quality and availability.

o Collaborate with the China office on New Product Development and supply base development.

· Supply Chain and Sustainability:

o Manage supplier relationships, ensuring ethical policies are in place.

o Work towards achieving 100% recyclable packaging for products.

Qualifications and Experience:

o Academic Requirements:

o Essential – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field.

o Desirable – Professional qualifications such as:

§ CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)

§ CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing)

Experience:

· Proven experience in product buying, category management, or product development.

· Strong commercial acumen and experience in managing product profitability and performance.

· Familiarity with market research and trend analysis to inform product strategies.

· Experience in supplier management, including international sourcing and ethical compliance.

· Knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and product lifecycle planning.

· Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.

· Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
