CAD Technician – Newry

CAD Technician required for a Internal Fit-Out business based in Newry but with interests across the UK and Ireland. They service multiple new build and renovation markets and have a large workforce in place.

You will be involved in a large design team producing manufacturing drawings for Interior Fit-out projects. Day-to-Day will see you deal with external architects and production/sales teams, also see you involved in some interesting and challenging projects.

You will be an experienced CAD Technician with good use of AutoCAD. You will be enthusiastic, passionate with a can do attitude to join similar like minded people within this company. They are open to different levels and types of experience with Autocad.

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for interiors and want to progress with your career in design? Join our team as a CAD Technician and gain valuable experience in the exciting world of marine interior fit-out projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of drawings and assembly details with production team.
  • Providing effective communication and feedback information to all relevant parties.
  • Liaising with sub-contract representative(s) / manufacturers & site installers where required to ensure the supply chain has a full and correct understanding of our requirements.
  • Responding to on-site urgent / non-urgent requirements and facilitate effective problem solving to maximise customer satisfaction and minimise site fixing time.
  • Obtaining customer/architect design intent information and producing working drawings.
  • Issuing and administering all drawing approvals and construction issue documents for production.
  • Preparing material cutting sheets for production for joinery and metal fabrication departments.
  • Ensuring all department documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with company policy ensuring that all documentation is finished within the required time.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by your line manager.

The Ideal person will have:

  • Strong enthusiasm for the construction and fit-out industry.
  • Strong AutoCAD knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to deal professionally with customers/clients.
  • Excellent organisational skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Marine fitout sector experience.

*Some travel may be required for meetings with clients/sub contractors.
