Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time – 33 hours and 38.5hrs, 4 nights on 3 nights off.

Duties Included (but not limited to):

· To assist in the provision of care and work part of a team to achieve required standards.

· To ensure residents retain their dignity and individuality.

· To be involved in the general activities of the Home/Unit.

· Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required with personal care and all other aspects of daily living.

· Assist residents with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting.

· Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of residents.

· Assist residents who need help during meal times, helping with serving of food, drinks as requested/required and wash up as requested/required.

· Observe, monitor and record residents physical and emotional well-being and report any changes to senior staff.

· Encourage residents to participate in social and recreational activities.

· Promoting safe working practice and ensure the good reputation of the Home.

Job Description

Experienced, kind, caring, and patient Care Assistants required for well established and well regarded residential care home in Wigan.

Experience of supporting people living with dementia. You will be supported with personal development training.

Job Description

MPS Care Group is a leading provider of residential care homes. Our homes provide comfortable, safe and homely environments for all of our residents.

Due to our increasing home occupancy we are looking to recruit Day and Night Care Assistants to join our highly trained and caring team at Rosecroft Residential Care Home.

Hours: Full Time / part Time

Duties & Responsibilities:

This role involves the following duties & responsibilities

  • Personal care for the residents including dressing, washing, bathing and using toilet facilities
  • Assisting at meal times
  • To make and change beds and tidy rooms.
  • To maintain accurate notes and records and to handover information on shift change over
  • To help in the promotion of mental and physical activities through talking to residents, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations
  • To answer emergency call bells in a timely manner
  • To Assist residents with Nutrition and Hydration

The list of duties is not exhaustive, but outlines the main regular parts of the role. Other reasonable duties may be requested by home manager or senior members of staff.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Caring and compassionate staff who want to make a difference
  • Experience in a similar role is a distinct advantage, however entry-level candidates will be considered as full training is provided.
  • Although previous experience is not essential, all applicants must be reliable and have strong communication skills.
  • Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure which the expense will be met by the applicant. If you already have an Enhanced Disclosure dated within the last 3 months this is transferable and there will be no need to pay for another. The Employer has claimed an exception under the Equality Act 2010.
