Carpenter/Joiner
Sedgefield – Spennymoor
Permanent – Full Time
Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm 42.5 hours per week
Up to £35,349.75 per annum + company van and fuel card

What we are looking for:
Join our dedicated team of professionals specializing in high-standard general repairs, damp and mould remediation, and comprehensive refurbishment activities for housing properties. We pride ourselves on delivering best-in-class customer service while adhering to the highest safety, quality, and cost control standards.
You will be working in our tenanted properties, as well as the commercial and communal areas, under our Livin contract. Your tasks will include installing or repairing doors, windows, skirting boards, fencing, and much more. It would be advantageous for candidates to have experience in repairs or installations of garage doors. Key Criteria:
  • Trade qualification in carpentry or joinery
  • UK full driving licence
  • Manual Handling
  • Previous experience in repair and maintenance on tenanted properties
  • Ability to repair or install Windows, Doors, Fences, Skirting boards.

Permanent – Full Time 42.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
Up to £31,060.00 per annum + company van and fuel card
This contract provides a 24-hour Housing repair service. This post offers the opportunity to participate in additional hours, which can potentially boost earnings by approximately £5k per annum, based on weekend work or call out if suitably skilled in other areas of construction. Participation is optional and not mandatory.
What we are looking for:
As a Carpenter/joiner you will be working in our tenanted properties, working alongside the local councils. Your tasks will include installing or repairing doors, windows, skirting boards, and much more. Key Criteria:
  • UK Full Driving licence
  • NVQ or equivalent in carpentry
  • Previous on the job experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Provide own hand tools
  • IT literate.

Mears provide tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations.
Day to day duties:
  • Carrying out reactive carpentry repairs in occupied properties
  • Undertaking 1st and 2nd fix Carpentry
  • Responsible for duties to include but not limited to – hanging doors, skirting, architraves, fixing windows / doors, lock changes, repairing worktops, kitchen units etc
  • Providing high levels of customer care at all times
Role Criteria:
  • Experience in Carpentry
  • Experience in Timbe window repairs
  • Social housing experience
  • A UK full valid driving license
