Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker – Team Leader
Location: Conisbrough (DN12)
Job type: Average of 155 hours / full time on a weekly Rota
Hours: 7.30am – 11.00pm (15.5 hour shift) then a sleep in from 11.00pm until 7.30am
2 days on 4 days off shift rotation
Average salary: £14.30 – £15.36
(Not including sleep-ins – paid at £50.00 per sleep)

What will you be doing:
- This role is a highly sensitive role and as such requires excellent safeguarding awareness due to the position having a foundation built on trust with our young people.
- Shift leading (supervisory experience is desirable)
- Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
- Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
- Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
- Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
- Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professional- ism expected by the company and Ofsted
- Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programs
- Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development
Requirements:
- Completed NVQ / Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Experience working within a children’s residential setting (essential)
- Confidence and ability to lead a team of practitioners (supervisory experience essential)
- Ability to interact with a range of people/young people
- To be able to provide consistency of care and support to the young people
- Experience working with children who may display challenging behaviour
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and sleep-in duties on a rota system
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Candidates must be over 21 to meet the industry regulations

Madiba is now an established provider of complex care in Yorkshire and we really mean business when it comes to changing lives and strives to change the way Children are looked after. We focus on children with complex needs, learning disabilities, communication difficulties and or neurodevelopment disabilities. Therefore a high level of patience, resilience and creativity is essential. The homes take long term placements, to allow the home to achieve long term outcomes. We use positive behaviour support approaches to understand the form and functions of behaviours and reduce behaviours that challenges. Positive behaviour support experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given.
As a provider we will provide a safe, secure and high staffing ratio to ensure that the staff and young people are kept safe and deliver outstanding care. There are other provisions in the pipeline and look at developing staff in to more senior roles within. This means there is so much opportunity for career development and to grow with the company.
