Role : Class 1 Weekend driver

Location: Severn Beach (BS35)

PAYE: £18.61 – £22.34 p/h PAYE

Contract Type: Ongoing/ADHOC

Shift Pattern – Saturday and Sunday 05:00 start

Required: Minimum 6months class 1 experience required

Driving Force Recruitment Ltd are currently offer an excellent opportunity for HGV 1 Weekend drivers for our client based in Severn Beach (BS35)

The job will be distributing to retail stores with a curtain side trailer, single or doubled -deck. Unloaded by fork lift so you don’t have to unload. Normally 1/2 drops per shift.

We have shifts also in the week but more requirement on weekends.

Rate;

Saturday £18.61

Sunday £ 22.34

The right candidate will have an enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service.

Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers’ expectations.

Closing date: 10.01.2025

Desired Skills:

Driving License, Digi card and Drivers CPC Card

Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work.

Good Geographical Knowledge

Minimum of 6 Months experience on C+E license.

Excellent communication skills.

Unfortunately, we cannot use any candidates with DR10 or CD10 on your license.

A maximum of 6 points on your licence.

Job Description

A growing national haulage firm are looking for additional Class 1 / HGV 1 drivers to join the Wisbech depot under a Temp 2 Perm agreement, this role is for drivers that want a permanent position with a company after a short qualifying period.

The client operates a fleet of Class 1 vehicles that is diverse in the work roles, from Pallet delivery through to flat bed work, you could find yourself doing regional multi collections and deliveries where customers are taking only 1-2 pallets per drop, but you will be covering the length of the country.

They are friendly, busy and growing, you vehicles are immaculate, start times are from around 0600 daily with days varying from 17:00 to 18:00 finishes, can be longer.

This is a genuine opportunity for drivers looking for permanent work.

Whilst on the trial period your pay rates are:

Monday to Friday £17.00 Phr

Saturdays £20.00 Phr

The above rates include holiday accrual for the trial period.

WHEN PERMANENT THE PACKAGE OFFERED IS:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Guaranteed 50 hours per week (overtime available)
  • £13.00phr Monday – Friday
  • £12 daily meal allowance (tax free)
  • (equivalent to £14.40ph on a 55hr week, inc meal allowance)
  • £17phr Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday
  • (equivalent to £18.92phr on an 8hr day inc meal allowance)

About The Role


Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit Class 1 HGV Drivers to work on our Transmission Networks Contract.

As a HGV Driver you will be part of our Transmission & Distribution Team.

The main purpose of the Class 1 HGV Driver role is to have excellent all round knowledge of driving/maintaining different types of site vehicles. Keeping abreast of daily site activities/deliveries and completing driving tasks associated with the contract. Ensuring that all duties are performed in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
As the Class 1 HGV Driver your duties & responsibilities will be:
  • Ensure that all documentation associated with deliveries is clearly and accurately completed and to perform loading/unloading and delivery duties as directed
  • Using Telescopic Fork lift trucks (Telehandlers)
  • Working knowledge of site equipment, fittings and machinery. Keeping up to date knowledge of amendments.
  • Completing, storing and returning daily drivers log book records
  • Completing Drivers Weekly Report book. Recording mileage, locations, fuel checks, vehicle maintenance. Recording any defects and reporting them to the Transport department at NDC
  • Driving pick-up trucks and using trailers as required
  • Dealing with deliveries. Taking control of delivery notes and returning them to the site engineer
  • Understanding and adhering to the daily on site risk assessments and tool box talks
  • Keeping up to date with SHEQS alerts and equipment / machinery alterations
  • To carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • A working knowledge of the Highway Code, Vehicle Daily Checks and Drivers Domestic Hours Rules is required
  • The ideal applicant will possess a clean Driving Licence, Classes 1, 2 and light goods, HGV and CITB Hiab crane Qualifications
