CNC Programmer/ Production Engineer (Turning/ Milling)

Mini Gears Stockport Ltd is an award-winning engineering Company that supply a wide range of gears and machined components worldwide to various industries. We are looking for a CNC Programmer/ Production Engineer (Turning/Milling) to join our team.
Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity and technically diverse role, where you will be responsible for the programming of a range of CNC Lathes and Machining centres (Mazak, Doosan, Victor, HAAS etc.).
This position provides an outstanding opportunity for someone to have full autonomy for the department in an off-line role reviewing all aspects of CNC production engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day programming and tooling for the CNC turning and milling department.
- Manage the business DNC package and program control.
- Continuously improve existing products by reviewing methods, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
- Enhance production process efficiencies, focusing on waste reduction.
- Attend APQP meetings as the production engineering representative
- Assess tooling requirements for new products and ensure timely orders to meet production dates.
- Control tooling orders and monitor spending in line with budgets.
- Generate programs for new products and prove them out on machines.
- Create setup instructions and shop floor documentation to support manufacturing processes.
- Record cycle times and communicate with engineering teams.
- Train and develop production staff as needed.
Requirements
- HND/HNC in Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline).
- Apprenticeship trained or fully training as a CNC programmer with a strong background in engineering.
- CNC Offline and online Programming experience.
- Strong experience generating and proving out programs on CNC lathes and vertical milling machines.
- Able to understand the manufacturing processes of complex parts.
- Strong knowledge of Machining various materials.
- Be conversant with Mazak (Mazatrol), Fanuc, HAAS controls.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to independently interpret and work to engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Experience in programming Mazak Integrex multi axis turning centres with live tooling would be advantageous.
- Programme using Mazatrol, Fanuc, Featurecam (or and CAM package).
- Experience in working with tooling suppliers to implement new tooling/methods.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies i.e. Kaizen, 5S etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £20.00-£23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
