CNC Setter
I am currently working on behalf of a leading Engineer company who produce precision parts to a number of clients.
They are continuing to invest in their infrastructure and people and are making great strides in innovation and are growing at a good rate.
They are now currently recruiting for a CNC Setter to run their CNC machines.
The job role:
- Liaise with the production manager and production supervisor daily to ensure you have full understanding of the production requirements.
- Work together within a team of advanced machinists to ensure all aspects of machine setting and operation are carried out efficiently, and machines are utilised effectively.
- Take full ownership of all aspects of the CNC machine setup including tooling build, work holding loading/alignment and datum setting, NC program editing and creation if required (online and offline), program transfer to the machine, followed by full prove out of component parts programs.
- Problem-solve the machining process and make necessary machine and/or program adjustments to ensure parts conform to specification.
- Liaise directly with the engineering team if necessary to resolve any production related problems.
- Fully inspect components to ensure they meet the customer requirements using precision measuring equipment.
- Complete paperwork including job cards and NCRs when necessary
Essential Criteria
- Extensive proven experience in the setting and operation of 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (minimum 7 years)
- Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings competently.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven machining related problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills
