Job title: Contracts Manager – Commercial

Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire

The Malloy Aeronautics Team:

Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role:

As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for creating commercial strategies that keep us profitable and help us grow. You will help win new business and support our delivery of complex projects.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with our customers and be part of this exciting team developing solutions to exceed our customer expectations and win future business.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll being doing:

It takes a varied set of skills to be part of the Commercial team: analytical and curious, problem solving and innovation, communicative and authoritative, able to draw on business-wide expertise and join the dots, wise enough to lead and strong enough to support. The Commercial role is one of the few within Malloy Aeronautics to interact with all other functions within the business. It is a role which exists throughout the project lifecycle and has end-to-end exposure and experience. It requires a breadth of vision to understand the bigger picture, and a laser focus that spots issues and identifies solutions. Demonstrating consistently high levels of business acumen is central to the Commercial team’s value add.

The Commercial team work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach in developing, supporting and delivering the Commercial Strategy in the UK and overseas, covering:

  • Business Winning activities
  • Bid Approval and Submission
  • Contract Agreement and Award activities
  • Contract execution phases
  • Contract Closure phases
  • Opportunity Identification and Exploitation

These opportunities will allow individuals to experience how Commercial Contracts discipline plays a fundamental role in securing prospects and managing existing business.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

We are looking for experienced commercial managers with proven ability to work with customers, shareholders and internal teams at all levels.

· Building and maintaining strong customer relationships

· Playing a major role in winning new business

· Drafting and negotiating complex terms and conditions and associated agreements with customers ensuring the interests of BAE Systems are protected

· Negotiate contract change and management of commercial claims

· Provide flow down of commercial contract requirements into the business

· Ensure that the business’s financial and commercial exposures are addressed through appropriate commercial contract frameworks such as export controls, export finance, product safety (including insurance) and intellectual property rights

Desired Skills and Experiences:

· Experience of commercial skills and the commercial role

· Understanding of contracts and contractual principles

· Understanding of risk management and identification

· Experience of building and maintaining strong customer relationships

· An appreciation of the business market and domain knowledge relating to the commercial solution

· A strong business acumen

· Curious and open minded

· An ability to resolve complex problems that do not have routine solutions.

· Track record of strong and inclusive team skills as both a team leader and team member
