Responsibilities and Duties

Cover Cleaners required for a client site in Leckhampton, Cheltenham. GL53 9RP

£11.44 per hour. Typical hours are from 3.30 pm to 6pm. 12.5 hours per week.

The job involves providing a high quality cleaning service in a prestigious office complex that includes tasks such as; vacuuming, high & low dusting, wiping down skirting, mopping of designated areas.

Equipment is provided and kept in a cleaning cupboard and you will be required to notify the line manager if stock is running low.

Job Description

We require a cover cleaner to cover holidays and sickness absence at sites in Gunness area of Scunthorpe.

Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour

Job Title: Cover cleaner

Reports to: Contracts Manager

Job Purpose: To provide efficient and effective cleaning to the assigned workplace. Ensure that that the cleanliness and general appearance of the building is maintained in accordance with the required standards and specific site requirements.

Main Duties:

Securing and opening up sites and some caretaking duties.

Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points

Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops

Mopping floors with wet or damp mops, Scrubbing flooring with scrubber dryer and or using a buffing machine.

Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing equipment, furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, mirrors, shelves and fitments in line with the cleaning schedule.

Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required

Cleaning showers, toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks

Using cleaning products as directed by the Supervisor or Manager

Operate relevant equipment safely

Maintain tidy and organised work spaces and storage areas

Check equipment / machinery used and ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to

Work effectively in a team or on own

Keep a check on cleaning stock levels and report on low stock levels

Carry out routine administrative tasks required. These may be in paper or electronic form. eg. checking off cleaning tasks on daily cleaning specification sheets and completing time sheets

There may be particular duties other than those given in the job description for the post.
