Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, experienced professional to join our expanding team. We provide a nurturing, happy and safe place for every child in an environment which supports development, challenges and enables children to lead their own learning through exploring and curiosity. We are set in a beautiful farm steading, surrounded by countryside landscape and wildlife. We have a private forest, meadow, polytunnel and lots of outdoor space. We have three beautiful playrooms and our children are aged from one year up till starting school.

The successful candidate will work across all age groups supporting the development and progression of the staff team and children’s learning. We have practitioners based in the nursery and outdoors and some rotate between.

Our staff team are very friendly, welcoming and supportive.

This role is essential in maintaining a secure, nurturing environment and delivering excellent care and education to children while supporting the overall management of the nursery.

The successful candidate will support the Nursery Manager in delivering all aspects of high quality childcare. They will supervise staff, guarantee high-quality childcare, communicate with parents, adhere to health and safety regulations, support administrative duties, promote teamwork, and collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and supportive work environment. The successful candidate will play an essential role in fostering teamwork and professional growth. Experience of supervision and leadership roles is essential.

SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent is essential. You will also be required to meet or be working towards the qualification and registration requirements as set out by SSSC required for Management. Experience and or qualification in Forest Schools would be preferred but is not essential. You must also be, or eligible to become, a PVG Scheme member.
